Predator – Chapter 2

Predator - Chapter Ad 2A little under six hours later it is a sleeping Breaze. The sleeping Draconian has nearly five hours of resting. Augusta sits next to him as he lay on the grass-covered floor. She is comfy while listening to the air outside the cave whisper to her soul. It is a counting of biped feline mortals that have arrived to enjoy a visit.

‘141, 142, 143, 144’

She is puzzled for the air claims the creatures effortlessly scale the mountain and take time to send scouts higher up the mountainside. These catty creatures know where she is. They do because the bulk of them are positioned just outside the entrance on the cave’s outer wall. Creatures clinging like ninja cats on the mountainside. This has a grin displayed as she begins thinking, ‘ Surrounded by pussies and no cream ’.

The air outside the cave suddenly whips a heavy breeze inward. It is as though an alarm sounds. An alert to a swiftly appearing feline humanoid leaping from above like an acrobat into the cave. One becomes three. Three pounce into being seven. And, as speedily as each appears they kneel on the cave’s floor with their faces placed on the grassy rock surface.

“ We hear you are a Griff Goddess. A wind whisperer knowing to speak like us.” Arrives spoken by the first one that entered.

Eyes widen at hearing them. Them speaking in a beastly language that she somehow understands. Them being creatures that are mortal biological feline humanoids or cat humanoids. ‘ Furballs’ flow in thoughts with astonishment owning this moment’s first connection to such creatures.

“ Felidaeanthropos,” Groggily interrupts Breaze before further commenting. “ Savages that hunt and murder helpless offspring after the slaughter of the mother Griff. ”

Awake, yes Breeze is. That provokes a frustrated sigh from Augusta. She knows that her best buddy has issues with the Felidaeanthropos species. His dislike of anything cat is profound. Additionally, Breaze`s friend, the deceased emperor Griffin, lost his wife to the cat humanoids on this planet. Bad blood, first suspects for the murder of Averous and a lifelong dislike of all things cat. That is exactly what Breaze`s voice tone holds.

Upward into standing seems to flash into happening. Then a solidly paced march to stand in front of Augusta. She has not moved from the sitting position. Nor have any of the cats changed from bowing in respect. However, there is a surveying of the moments and an observation of the guests. She is quite interested in the behaviours that are tale-telling.

‘ Yes, indeedy, ‘ settles in her thoughts as Augusta listens to air passing into and out of their lungs. Breaths that display a lack of nervousness. No conscious effort to be at peace but at peace. Everyone but Breaze holds calmness. Additionally, the Felidaea are not anxious about the possibility of a more beastly Breaze. These facts abide to inject a statement from Augusta.

“ Explain why you watched me all day. ” Arrives demanding knowledge of current circumstances.

“ Our queens want to know why your kind, “ Boldly begins the firstly entered Felidaea as his head raises to look toward Augusta in continuing.“ Why does your kind come to desecrate Lios alters? You hunt Lios and kill the twin emperor Griffs. ”

A shudder of shock sweeps over Augusta at the claim of her murdering Griffs. Her unrighteously taking life simply does not happen. All life breath is taken via righteous reason, justice or a mix of necessary due to laws. Such a notion of murder is offensive. She stare straightly into his eyes with her eyes carrying a rushed warning of danger flaring.

“ Name! ” Sharp, a lethal sound as she impatiently wait with her entire body ascending in floating a foot from the surface beneath her still seated ass. She has not moved but the air certainly has become ready for anything necessary.

“ Cyrus Calicoes serving the Queens of Felidia. ” Stutters forth with olive-greenish eyes instantly turning downward.

There is no looking at Augusta as the air in the cave grows denser creating slight breathing difficulties.

“ My kind, my kind… there is no kind like me. I do not murder. So, Calicoes, you best dare to share what you intend by kind. ” Arrives as a sudden thunder wind snaps lightning in the high atmosphere over the mountain range.

The muscular feline body of tricolour-marked fur, the fur of white with large orange and black patches quakes. The nearly six-foot male Felidaeanthropos senses life being in doubt. Yet, he remains silent. No ounce of begging for breaths as his eyes remain lowered and his breaths deepen in preparation for whatever is to come. His breath’s becoming harder but his heart attains a calmness as blood flow in peace.

‘ No fear, ’ Enters Augusta’s thinking as she puzzles about why he does not fear death. Pondering turns into querying. ” No fear, Cyrus, no fear? ”

With a deepened breathing the mature Felidaeanthropos replies, “ No murder. You said that. ” He raises that fine-furred head to look into Augusta’s eyes as breathing becomes harsher. “ I trust, do you? ”

Trust. Trusting these catty creatures, does she? She ponders that. And, it has truth for if she has not been trusting in them then the beckoning to follow would not have been done several hours ago.

“ I do. ” And that acknowledgement instantly causes the air around them to move into easy breaths. Everyone returns to normal even though not one of the cat creatures moved during the entirety of the past several moments. Even Breaze is thankful for the less heavy air as he finds enough air to demandingly ask, “ What is considered to be her kind? ”

“ No fur felines of no paws. ” Convey Cyrus Calicoes within shifting stare toward Breaze.

The stare is ignored as the answer stings the senses. It seems odd to hear. No fur, no paws, and cat. A cat, what cat has no fur?  That all puzzles both Breaze and Augusta. Their thoughts become busy with sorting out what it means. Within that, Breaze becomes suspicious for he does not trust any of them. Thus, his eyes squint in coldly glaring at Cyrus Calicoes. However, in seeing distrust flash in those Draconian eyes, Augusta giggles for it forces an immediate understanding.

“ Ah yes, I am a cat with no paws but do have claws. There is no fur but clothes. A cat, a feline, oh yes, my kind. Oh yes, yes … furless and humanoid, bipedal. ” Comes delivered in being amused by the turnaround of what she had been thinking about them. Humanoid but fur, paws and biped. Her the opposite, her kind is the opposite of them.

She laughs until it seems silly to laugh. The air is lighter and the mood is dripping in funny. That causes the air to settle her body back to the cave`s floor. It allows her to stand before the group of humbled Felidaeanthropos. “ Okay, I understand. Creatures like me. Those kinds of felines are the murderers of the Griffs. How many Griffs? And, which ones? “ Comes as a query with a relaxed smile forming on Augusta’s lips.

“ The twin emperors, Lord Berous and Lord Averous, our friends, the twins, the makers of peace between. “ He sorrowfully conveys in bringing full gaze upon Augusta.

Silence as that notion settles. It declares that off-worlders are the sought-after criminals. That at the very least the villains are fleshly elastic-skinned humanoids. That of course does not intend entities like her but possibly similar. Mortals that somehow can travel to such an isolated barbaric creature-only planet.

“ And, we not follow you. “ Breaks the quietness as Cyrus Calicoes clarifies an important something. “ We come to mourn our Lord, our Averous. ”

Swiftly Breaze steps forward to protest such an idea as he begins to speak. However, Augusta turns toward him to interrupt by shaking her head in a statement of, ‘ no ‘ as she then sends a telepathic statement. ‘ Wait, wait..let Cyrus speak ’.

The male feline watches both while becoming worried, worried enough to have the air in his lungs tremble. That causes a cough as he continues sharing. ” Then you invite us here. We do not understand why. ”

” As I did not understand why you were watching us. ” shares Augusta while moving to stand in front of Breaze who uses telepathy to protest about believing the cat creatures. Then feeling that is controlled, Augusta continues communicating with Cyrus. ” But, you have clarified. Therefore maybe we could share more information. As a Goddess of ‘my kind’ maybe I can help solve these problems of ‘my kind’ committing wrongs. ”

Long moments of no reply abide causing Breaze to step forward in saying, “ Trusting them, no, we should not. ”

” We must. But, more importantly, the Griffins I spoke with yesterday claim that peace exists between them and the felines. Peace accords are something that the other Griffs proclaim as a triumph of Averous. Therefore maybe trusting is not impossible. ” Augusta conveys in placing a hand on the Draconian male’s shoulder as she continues sharing. “ But yes, we will be careful. I always have your back. ”

Cyrus studiously watches them before interrupting in replying, “ You would need such permission from our queens. Only they know all the truths of it. If you wish we will tell them you are the judge of your kind. And, you are the help they seek. So, if you want then come to meet. ”
